Project Overview

The primary objective of this scheme is to ensure that there is sufficient DC traction power across Network Rail’s (NR) Sussex Route to meet the demands of the new December 2018 timetable, which will include a newer fleet and more frequent trains, all in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Transport’s (DTT) strategic plan.

Key Deliverables

The scope of works include; 6No UTX’s, 16No URX’s, TIS Base Installations, Troughing,  ETE cable Installation, HV Feeder Cable Installation, New Buried Duct Routes, Hand Rail, Access paths, Route Support, GRP Installation.

Staffing Specifications

Civil Rail Solutions were engaged by main contractor McNicholas in the second quarter of 2016 to provide the civils based labour for the project. CRS are supplying the following trades to McNicholas for the duration of this project:

  • PTS Labourers

  • Gatemen/Site Security

  • Skilled Groundworkers

  • COSS’

  • Safe Work Leaders (SWL 1)

  • HV Competent labour

  • Plant Operators

  • Gangers/Foremen

  • Supervisors
